and Leading the Restructuring of Clean Hydrogen Economy Infrastructure
GS Energy is considering participating in projects for the development of ADNOC environmentally friendly blue ammonia, as well as exploring opportunities to continuously supply clean hydrogen and ammonia overseas.
Furthermore, to ensure a stable supply of domestically introduced clean hydrogen and ammonia to clients, GS Energy is actively pursuing the establishment of supply infrastructure. In addition, it is considering various business models involving carbon capture and utilization, as well as storage (CCUS), as part of its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Considering the conditions of domestic renewable energy generation and CO2 storage, it is practically impossible to meet the national hydrogen roadmap and the significantly expanding hydrogen demand in the country solely with domestically produced clean hydrogen. Therefore, the introduction of overseas clean hydrogen and ammonia is an essential initiative.
GS Energy has initiated its participation in environmentally friendly blue ammonia projects of ADNOC, the state-owned petroleum company of the UAE. Furthermore, it is actively engaged in various projects to import clean hydrogen and ammonia from diversified supply sources such as the Middle East, Australia, North America, and others to meet the demand within the country.
To supply clean hydrogen and ammonia imported from overseas production projects to domestic clients, it is essential to establish supply infrastructure, including hydrogen and ammonia receiving terminals and supply pipelines.
In line with this, GS Energy is actively pursuing the development of supply infrastructure projects utilizing group core assets and domestic and international networks. The company is also engaged in active discussions with various power generation and industrial customers within the GS Group, as well as external partners, regarding the supply and infrastructure development of clean hydrogen and ammonia.
